Self-Lubricating Materials

LubriOne™ Internally Lubricated Formulations

Reduces Friction, Vibration, Heat Buildup

LubriOne™ Internally Lubricated Formulations are specifically designed to be self-lubricating materials, offering low coefficient of friction and improved wear-resistance properties for molded parts. These materials combine the unique benefits of internal lubricants such as PTFE, silicone and molybdenum disulfide with a wide array of base engineering resins. LubriOne formulations have been demonstrated to reduce friction, noise, vibration, heat buildup and improve product durability.

Several lubricants enhance the performance of LubriOne formulations. PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) offers the lowest coefficient of friction of any internal lubricant, and results in significantly lower wear rates than traditional plastics. Silicone behaves primarily as a boundary lubricant, and significantly reduces wear rates and coefficients of friction when formulated into thermoplastics at low levels. Molybdenum disulfide is typically formulated with nylon resins to reduce wear rates. Reinforcements can include glass fibers, carbon fibers, or aramid fibers.
