CLEVELAND – June 15, 2022 – Avient Corporation, a premier provider of specialized and sustainable material solutions and services, today announced expansion of its portfolio of Complēt™ REC long fiber reinforced composites using recycled resin.

The new formulations can use varying levels for post-industrial recycled content – from 25% to 100% recycled content for polyamide 66 (PA66) and from 25% to 75% recycled content for thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). These variations allow for material customization to meet performance and sustainability requirements. This expands the product line that launched earlier this year with PA6 resin derived from reclaimed end-of-life fishing nets.

“We are excited to add to our recycled content product line with new resin matrices, continuing Avient’s commitment to leading the industry in sustainable solutions,” said Eric Wollan, general manager for Long Fiber Technologies at Avient.

Providing stiffness, strength, and toughness, these new sustainable grades offer properties comparable to those of standard PA66 and TPU long fiber formulations using virgin resin. These composites have structural characteristics that make them ideal alternatives to metals. When used in metal replacement applications, they can help customers achieve significant weight reductions along with the time and cost-saving benefits of single-step injection molding fabrication. Complēt™ REC PA66 and TPU long fiber reinforced composites can assist OEMs in achieving their sustainability goals for structural applications in such markets as adventure gear and office furnishings.

Formulations are available globally in black and natural color and in typical reinforcement percentages of long glass fiber, long carbon fiber, or hybrid combinations. Formulations also can use varying levels of post-industrial recycled resin content
