PVC foam sheet extrusion Seminar
13 August 2010
Over 40 delegates from across EMEA region recently attended a one day seminar organised by the global leader in liquid colorant and additive technologies, ColorMatrix. The event, which featured keynote speakers from leading suppliers to PVC foam sheet extrusion companies, provided visitors with a unique insight into the latest trends and developments driving this dynamic industry. It also gave delegates a preview of future technologies and the potential benefits they could bring to their business.
Entitled ‘PVC foam sheet extrusion: process and product improvements through new technologies’, the seminar brought together key suppliers from each of the significant process stages in the manufacture of PVC foam sheet extrusion – EMO Extrusion Molding GesmbH, Krauss Maffei Technologies, Kaneka Belgium E-Chem and ColorMatrix.
Delegates heard technical papers by expert speakers on a range of topics. These included EMO’s recommendations on ‘The better way to produce PVC sheet’ and ‘The benefits of high molecular weight process aids in foam sheet extrusion’ according to Kaneka Belgium. Visitors were also able to gain a more in depth understanding of the extrusion line and process for production of foamed PVC sheets from Krauss Maffei’s presentation, while E-Chem highlighted technical research demonstrating the benefits of CaZn stabiliser for PVC foam sheet. ColorMatrix demonstrated the advantages of using liquid foam additive technology, using visual examples to compare sheets produced using solid foaming agents with those formulated with liquid alternatives.
The event was positively received by attendees, who commented it was both informative and educational. Delegates also stressed the value of being able to speak to suppliers and industry leaders from all stages of PVC foam sheet extrusion manufacture.
