Technology Description

MiniMetrix is a proprietary volumetric dosing system engineered to optimize the benefits
of ColorMatrix advanced liquid colorant and additive technologies.

The system is a flexible, mobile unit which offers high level dosing accuracy and controllability
when compared to gravimetric solid systems.

Facilitating safe and ergonomically efficient dosing, the MiniMetrix system is simple to install
either alongside or in place of previously installed solid dosing systems.

System options

Depending on your particular application, theMiniMetrix dosing system can be supplied with
a choice of pump options:

Peristaltic pump

Ideal for short production runs, frequent color changes and is typically used for polyolefin
injection molding applications.

Positive displacement pump (PDP)

Ideal for ensuring continuous accuracy, typically used for longer production runs in PET packaging and extrusion applications.

Supply package options

The MiniMetrix system includes a range of package options including:

Small pail

3.7L, ideal for samples or small lots and suitable for peristaltic systems

Conical dispensing pail

27 or 17L, ideal for the majority of injection molding applications and smaller extrusion lines. Retains minimal residue and can be compacted for plastic recycling

Cubitainer

Alternative to the dispensing pails, made from mostly recyclable materials.

The MiniMetrix dosing system is a mobile, flexible unit engineered to deliver ColorMatrix technologies with maximum efficiency andminimal waste.

Continuous, highly accurate dosing

The MiniMetrix unit’s reservoir and pump systems enable continuous processing and facilitate quick, easy color changes. During operation, the system provides consistent and highly accurate dosing, even at very low addition rates.

Easy to control

The system is set up with a CMG3000 processing unit which provides simple and intuitive operation. The controller ensures high level control and accuracy of dosing. The controller is appropriate for all injection molding and extrusion applications and operates with a simple, direct connection to a production machine signal.

Clean, lean and flexible

The MiniMetrix is a floor standing unit, mounted on wheels so that it can be moved easily from machine to machine. Operation at floor level improves safety and serviceability. It is engineered to create a drip-free environment with no spills and continuous operation. Its quick, dry break connections ensure that clean, efficient color changes can be made. Operation involves no direct contact with the color. Larger reservoirs for higher throughput processes also ensure minimal handling and ease-of-use in busy production environments.

Excellent product recovery

ColorMatrix dosing equipment is engineered to ensure colorant wastage is kept to an absolute minimum. Using patented technology product recovery is optimized and typically reaches levels of 99%+.
The MiniMetrix is fitted with a reliable low liquid level detection system. When low level detection is triggered, the alarm beacon alerts the operator in good time to change the storage container before the buffer reservoir is empty. This can be changed and the reservoir re-charged without the machine stopping for un-interrupted 24-hour production without any loss of part color.
